CLASSIC SURF RESCUE JETBOAT

Here’s one for those who remember the surf clubs’ jet rescue boats from the 1970s (before they switch to RIBs).

Levin man Allan McComb recently spent months restoring this 1976 model. Since February, with the help of surf clubs and the Coastguard, he has been travelling around the North Island with his restored boat, raising money for melanoma research.

The beautifully restored jet rescue boat, produced by Hamilton Jet in Christchurch and powered by a 4.1-litre Falcon engine with matching 2-stage jet, will be in Hall 6. Enjoy his story, check out the great restoration he has done and make a donation to his very worthy cause. (Those that can’t come to the show can still make a $3 donation by texting Jet to 469).
