2024 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES: DAVE & VERONICA GIBBS

Dave and Veronica Gibbs managed The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show for 24 years, significantly enhancing its reputation for innovation and excellence. Representing the Auckland Water Ski Club, they played a crucial role in supporting the marine industry, using the show as a platform for impactful initiatives such as the Boat of the Show Awards, which set new industry standards.

egan his involvement in 1990 as a site manager for Peek Display, later exhibiting with Pro Dive through the late ’90s. Veronica contributed to the Stabicraft show stand and Hutchwilco before partnering with Dave in 2002 to manage the show.

Industry leaders have recognised their significant community and charitable contributions. They transformed the show into a centre for fundraising and education, organising auctions for Coastguard, supporting LegaSea and providing space for other marine communities and education-based organisations.

Although they did not own the show, Dave and Veronica approached it with the dedication of true owners. Their deep relationships and years of commitment have earned them considerable respect and admiration within both the show and the broader marine industry. Their story exemplifies passion, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
