Docked and delivered – yet another unforgettable event on the books!

Thanks for joining us at The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show 2024. Auckland Showgrounds was buzzing as boating and fishing legends from all over the country flooded in to experience New Zealand’s largest marine event.

All your favourite brands were there, casting out the sweetest deals and showing off the latest gear, tricks, and tips.

This year we introduced several new features like the new Shimano Fishing Pavilion, showcasing with the latest fishing tech, and the new Shimano Masterclass Series. We expanded the nautical-themed entertainment to include some fun on the water for the kids – including bumper boats, a huge inflatable pirate ship and a rodeo shark ride. Renowned names in fishing like Matt Watson led a jampacked Shimano Masterclass Series alongside Tony Orton, Chad Prentice and the LegaSea crew, offering invaluable insights and expertise to our keen punters!

Of course, we can’t forget the extraordinary grand prize – a Surtees/Yamaha boat package valued at over $300,000! Tens of thousands of visitors eagerly scanned their tickets at the six stations around the show for a shot at this incredible prize. In the end, Garry from Taranaki was the lucky winner of this year’s prize. Garry and ten of his fishing club mates attended the Boat Show on Saturday. The next day Garry was back out on the farm when he got the call. After the initial shock, Garry was back up to Auckland with his partner and son to pick up his prize! Four years ago, Garry had to reluctantly part with his old boat, so he’s ecstatic about getting back on the water chasing snapper and cod in his new whip!
