A brand‑new, nationwide fishing competition is here. And it’s built for the future of Kiwi fishing.
Launching alongside The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, the SnapCatch Classic transforms competitive angling with AI-powered catch verification, real‑time scoring and a strong focus on responsible fishing.
Registrations are open now and the competition runs from 30 March to 10 May, finishing just days before the show at Auckland Showgrounds.
And the best part? Entry is completely free.
How It Works
SnapCatch replaces traditional weigh‑ins with a modern, sustainable approach:
- Measure your fish on an official SnapCatch AI Measure Mat
- Snap a photo in the SnapCatch App
- Submit your catch for instant AI verification
- Release your fish. No weigh‑in needed
It’s fast, fair and preserves fish stocks for the future.
A live leaderboard will run throughout the competition, going blind before the final prizegiving to keep things thrilling right to the end.
